The American Horse Council Foundation Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund
In
light of Hurricane Katrina, The American Horse Council Foundation is accepting
donations to assist the needs of horse owners and their horses in the states
which were affected by this natural disaster, particularly
The Hurricane Katrina Relief fund
has raised over $30,000 to date. Currently, the American Quarter Horse
Association and the American Paint Horse Association have partnered with the
American Horse Council Foundation to raise money for this effort. 100% of the
funds for this disaster relief will be passed through to existing established
charities and equine organizations to assist with equine rescue, relief,
medical care, food, supplies and rebuilding horse community efforts.
Already, the American Horse
Council Foundation has donated 181 50lb bags of sweet feed that was loaded onto
trucks that left the Kentucky Horse Park Bound for the
An Advisory Committee is being
formed to review requests and advise on how the financial donations should be
allocated. This committee will include representatives of the American Horse
Council Foundation Board and the American Horse Council

catastrophe has captured the hearts of horse people everywhere. We feel
it is our responsibility as the American Horse Council Foundation to help in
any way we can. We would like to thank to equine community for the generosity
we know it will be all too willing to bestow upon this extremely important
cause” said
The
American Horse Council Foundation is a Section 501(c) (3) organization under
the internal revenue code. Contributions to it are tax-deductible as
charitable contributions.
