Lance Walters Elected to AHC Board of Trustees
Lance Walters, president of the Arabian Horse Association (AHA), has been elected to the Board of Trustees of the American Horse Council. Mr. Walters brings many years of horse experience to the AHC’s board, and is a welcome addition to an impressive group of horsemen who currently make up the AHC Board.
Walters has served as the AHA elected Vice President for four years with two four-year terms as the Region 16 director prior to that, experiences that have given him “great insight” into how the corporate side of the horse business is run. During his 29 year career in the Arabian horse community, he has fulfilled roles as an amateur, club officer, regional director, breeder, owner, exhibitor, commissioner, commission chair, vice president, and now president. “I am very happy to become an AHC Trustee. Since Arabian horses are involved in racing, showing, competition, and recreation, our owners and events are greatly affected by federal actions,” said Walters. “We are pleases to be involved once again with the AHC on a national level.”
For 40 years the horse industry has worked with the American Horse Council to represent all equine interests in Washington D.C. “The AHC is fortunate to have Mr. Walters join the AHC’s Board of Trustees. The Arabian horse industry has a long and valued history with the AHC and we are pleased to continue that. His addition to the board will bring new ideas and influence for the horse industry,” said AHC President Jay Hickey.
