AHC TAX WORKSHOP FEATURES TAD DAVIS

Thomas A. Davis, Esq., the author of the Horse Owners and Breeders Tax Handbook, will conduct a Tax Workshop as part of the upcoming American Horse Council annual meeting in Washington, DC.  The tax session will be from 1:30 to 3:00 PM on Monday, June 21, at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. 

Mr. Davis will discuss recent changes to the federal tax code affecting horse owners and others in the industry, including the recently-extended Section 179 expense deduction, “bonus” depreciation, the changes in the depreciation of race horses and other new tax provisions.  Mr. Davis will also review “hobby loss” issues, deductible breeding, racing and showing expenses, the passive loss rules, depreciation and sales of horses.  There will be time for questions and answers with Mr. Davis.

The AHC will be releasing the new, updated version of the Horse Owners and Breeders Tax Handbook at the tax workshop and attendees will be eligible to purchase the Handbook at a reduced rate.
